Our Rich History

Welcome to Briggsville!

Education has been a cornerstone of the Samsula community since 1893, when the area, then known as Briggsville, first established an elementary school.

In 1912, the one-room schoolhouse was relocated to its current site on Samsula Drive, where it served students in grades one through eight. A larger school building was constructed in 1928, portions of which remain in use today.

From its earliest days, students arrived by foot or horse, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment to learning that continues at Samsula Academy today!
