Board Chair
John is a dedicated parent of two current Samsula Academy students, with a third child expected to enroll in the coming years. He brings more than a decade of leadership and management experience as the owner and operator of his own company. With strong ties to the local community, John is deeply invested in the success of Samsula Academy through hands-on volunteerism and active involvement in school activities.
Recognized for his exceptional engagement and leadership potential, John was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors within six months of joining the Board. He has completed formal governance training and continues to engage in professional development through webinars and workshops. John also maintains close collaboration with Building Hope, the school’s charter support unit, to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.
As Board Chair, John has guided the Board through complex challenges, including leadership transitions, the resolution of formal grievances, and the securing of critical resources during periods of organizational change. In addition to his governance responsibilities, he serves as a parent liaison and regularly supports campus operations, including facilities management. His business acumen, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to the mission of Samsula Academy make him a highly effective and respected leader.
Treasurer
Amanda is a licensed Florida CPA (License #AC38661) with nearly two decades of experience in corporate accounting and financial management. She currently serves as Senior Director of Corporate Accounting at NASCAR, where she leads a large team and oversees initiatives in accounts receivable, revenue recognition, system integrations, and financial compliance. Her expertise includes guiding Workday implementations, coordinating with legal teams on contractual revenue planning, and managing multimillion-dollar revenue streams.
Amanda holds a Master’s in Business Administration and has been a licensed CPA since 2006. Her financial expertise, strategic leadership, and experience managing complex, high-stakes operations make her an invaluable member of the Samsula Academy Board, particularly in her role as Treasurer.
In addition to her professional qualifications, Amanda is an actively engaged parent with a student currently enrolled at Samsula Academy. She has been involved in the school community for several years, bringing a thoughtful, balanced perspective to Board decisions. Her combination of professional expertise and personal investment ensures responsible stewardship of Samsula Academy’s finances and supports the school’s long-term growth and sustainability.
Vice Chair & Parent Liason
David has been an active and valued member of the local community for over 12 years. He joined the Samsula Academy Board of Directors in early 2025 after being invited by a friend to lend his expertise during a period of significant challenges for the school. What began as a call to help quickly evolved into a deep and ongoing commitment to supporting the success and sustainability of this historic institution.
David brings a unique combination of experience in facilities management, commercial real estate, and clinical psychology. Following a successful career as a commercial real estate broker, he earned advanced degrees in developmental and clinical psychology, including a doctorate. As a clinical psychologist, he has worked extensively with children, families, educators, and school systems, giving him a keen understanding of the social and emotional dynamics within a school community.
In addition to his role at Samsula Academy, David serves on two other boards overseeing real estate holdings. His professional expertise, steady leadership, and community-minded perspective make him a highly valued member of the Board, contributing both strategic insight and a thoughtful approach to supporting the school’s mission.
Board Member
Amy is an educational leader, nonprofit founder, and passionate advocate for student success. A long-time supporter of Samsula Academy, she is the proud parent of three Samsula alumni, with her youngest recently graduating. Her connection to the school spans many years and reflects both personal investment and professional experience, including her former role as ESE Director, and demonstrates a deep commitment to the school’s mission.
Amy holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. She brings extensive expertise in school governance, curriculum development, teacher training, and organizational growth. Throughout her career, she has written policies, developed innovative student support systems, and led multi-agency collaborations in the education and behavioral health sectors.
Her insight, leadership, and advocacy provide a powerful voice on the Board of Directors—one that honors Samsula Academy’s traditions, champions students, and guides the school toward a sustainable and impactful future.
Secretary & Communications/Marketing
Danielle serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors at Samsula Academy, and helps drive the school’s marketing and communications efforts, with a focus on enrollment growth and community engagement. She brings over 15 years of experience in marketing and advertising and currently works as a Marketing Director at PepsiCo, where she helps develop brand strategy, partnerships, and activations while overseeing integrated marketing and communications initiatives.
A proud parent of three children, Danielle has a personal connection to the school, with her oldest currently attending Samsula Academy and her younger children expected to follow. She is a strong advocate for hands-on, experiential learning and is committed to supporting the school’s mission and long-term success through effective outreach and family engagement.
Board Member - Grant Coordinator
Brittany Muh is an Associate Vice Chancellor of Programmatic Accreditation at Keiser University, where she oversees academic quality and compliance across diverse programs. With more than 12 years of experience in higher education, Brittany brings expertise in curriculum development, assessment, academic compliance, and accreditation processes.
A proud Florida native, Brittany has lived in Volusia County for the majority of her life, fostering strong ties to the local community. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, furthering her commitment to advancing excellence in education.
In addition to her professional work, Brittany serves as a board member and Grant Coordinator for Samsula Academy, where she facilitates funding opportunities and supports initiatives that strengthen the school’s mission and community. Her son attends Samsula Academy, which inspires her passion for fostering strong educational foundations for all students.
